![]() When they do get jobs from the higher-ups, there are very notable jobs protect a faction leader in Team Rocket, be the first Team Rocket boots in the Unova region Team Rocket still has them because they know the can, and have, produced results in the past.Ĭonsider that James doesn't want to see his parents because they want him to marry to some fat bitch (revealed later), and the fact that, later on in the anime, they take jobs on the side to pay for foodstuffs think Mommy and Daddy would let that happen? This indicates enough faith in the duo from the rest of the Team Rocket organisation to let them do as they see fit. Jessie & James, on the other hand, can operate alone they have their own hot air balloon, their own submarine and the funds available to them to throw money at quasi-successful mechs. If you observe the anime Team Rocket M.O., you'll observe that Grunts are rarely shown without a leader present, or in sizeable numbers. But then again, this is revealed in later seasons, so I can see where you're coming from. We've had this discussion in the past, about Team Rocket being hired to protect Ash I always (will) argue that Team Rocket are actually damn good criminals. Growing up rich, James doesn't understand how much things cost, so it never phases him that robot should cost hundred's of thousands, if not millions of dollars, and just accepts it as part of his salary. It also makes sense why the Trio are always starving yet somehow get the money to build super gigantic robots. He knows if he actually fires them, he won't receive any more money from James' parents, so he just lets them do their own thing under the guise of being part of Team Rocket and just collects the checks. Now if this is all true, it explains why Giovanni is always pissed off at Jesse and James, but never actually fires them. Thus, when James grew up and decided to join Team Rocket, his parents (or someone they paid to watch over James) made a deal with Giovanni to let him in and they would give a month stipend to Team Rocket, part of which would go to James (hence the salary he receives from Team Rocket) and in an afford to make him happy, he let his friend Jesse (they knew each other before TR) in as well. It makes more sense when you consider how he was just a rich, preppy, only-child with no real world experience, it would be easy for his parents to pay people to help him or to have things (money, food, etc.) "magically" appear out of nowhere, and James would be none the wiser. ![]() Maybe they did find him, but decided not to actually bring him back home (they were a bit weird if I remember them correctly.) so perhaps instead they decided to help him out from afar as he tried to make a life for himself. ![]() Think of it this way, we all knew James ran away from his house at one point in time, but isn't it weird that his parents never tried to bring him back? Obviously they have the money to hire some good PI to go get him. They obviously have the money for it (I mean they have a whole mansion just for one growlithe). James' parents are paying for their son to be in Team Rocket. And obviously Giovanni and Team Rocket are about making money so there must be something else going on, that's when it hit me: But if they are so horrible at being criminals, why does Giovanni keep them on? I believe one time it was mentioned that they were low on grunts, but with all the money Jesse and James waste with all the giant robots and balloons you would think it would cost them more to keep than to just let go. So anyone who knows anything about pokemon probably knows about Jesse, James, and Team Rocket, and how much of a joke they are in the pokemon world. Disclaimer: I recently started rewatching the anime, and I've gotten up to Johto so far, but even then that's only 4 out of the 17 seasons that have been made so far, so I don't know if they have disproved what I'm about to say.
